SUU Early College Online (ECO) 2023 Program
Cedar High School is glad to announce the returning ECO program from Southern Utah University, which will be offered during the summer months, for high school students.
What is the ECO Program?
The ECO (Early College Online) program is an excellent opportunity for students to get ahead in their college credit plans during the summer to help students who want to free up their schedule during their regular school year and still keep earning their college credits. ECO program is taken as an online platform. Usually through CANVAS in the student’s SUU portal.
How Much Does It Cost?
Unlike the state-funded Concurrent Enrollment Program at SUU, the ECO program is an SUU-funded program; therefore, the cost is $75/ Per College Credit. Students are also responsible for obtaining their textbook and other required materials.
Requirements to Be In the Program
Students must have a GPA of 3.0 minimum to be admitted.
Students must maintain a GPA of 2.0 minimum while taking the courses.
Students must follow SUU academic policies.
Students can participate until the spring term of the year they turn 18 years old.
A Few Considerations Before Signing UP
The summer semester starts on May 16th and ends Aug. 19th. Meaning that you would start courses before high school ends and your courses would end around the same time high school is starting back up.
If you register, be sure to pay attention to all of your assignment deadlines. Going on vacation does not excuse you from submitting your work on time.
Obtain your parent's/guardian's permission before registering for one of these courses. If you sign up and then do not pay for your course fees, a hold will be placed on your account and you will not be able to sign up for fall CE courses.
To register for Math and English, students will have some pre-requisites. Please check with your school counselor.
