Shawni has been a consistent force for the Reds in their offensive attack as well as the defensive front for the Reds. This last week, Shawni had 12 blocks between the 2 matches along with 3 service aces. She also had the highest hitting percentage on the team hitting .390 combined. Congratulations Shawni!!

The Reds took 4th at Region and improved on that 4th place finish at the Divisional Race finishing 3rd in a much bigger field of competition. Kason was a big part of that running a very solid race to help the team garner the 3rd place finish at Lakeside Park last Tuesday. Way to go Kason!!

For all who are interested in boys & girls Wrestling this year, there will be a mandatory parent meeting on Tuesday, October 21st at 7:00 pm in the Auditorium.

The Reds are Region Champs!! The Reds dominated the Carbon Dinos on Thursday evening winning 63-0. The Reds were very efficient moving the ball scoring 42 first half points. The Reds didn't allow a first down on defense and were never stopped on offense scoring on every possession. Braxton DeMille opened the scoring with a 20 Yard TD run, Max Gines then took a backwards pass from Kelling for a 4 yard score, and Kelling found a rushing lane after scrambling and scored from 6 yards out. The Second quarter scoring started with a Braden Crain TD reception from Kelling from 3 yards out, followed by an 11 yard TD completion from Everett Kelling to Dylan Crowley. With the game in hand the Reds switched up some offensive personnel and Colt Kelling came in relief of Everett and found Daxton DeMille for a 20 yard score and the 42-0 halftime lead. The second half had Jackson Mann at the helm at QB and Mann scored a 3 yard TD on a keeper extending the Reds lead and then Daxton DeMille would score 2 rushing touchdowns from 19 and 20 yards out to round out the Reds scoring. The win moves the Reds to 10-0 on the season, the first time in school history the Reds have gone 10-0. The Reds were able to hoist the 3A South region championship trophy and look towards the State Tournament as the bracket will be revealed on Saturday morning.

Today and Friday, schools in Iron County School District will be practicing emergency procedures. Those drills may include one of the following: Fire and Evacuation drill; Hold Action drill; Secure Action drill; Shelter in Place drill or Lockdown drill. Please note that an increased police presence may be seen at schools while these drills occur. If an actual emergency were to occur, parents and guardians would be notified through the ICSD alert system as quickly as possible. We appreciate your cooperation as we practice the standard response protocols with your child. To learn more about the district's safety procedures go to https://www.irondistrict.org/page/emergency-plan

Parents/guardians, We have been made aware of a post on social media regarding rumors of expected violence in Utah schools tomorrow. According to local law enforcement, these are unsubstantiated rumors. As a precaution, we have requested an increased police presence at our schools. As always, if you as a parent feel it is best to keep your student home, teachers will work with students to make up missed work.
