Kendee Corry is this week's "Hold yourself and your team accountable" teammate of the week. Kendee has been a consistent force for the Region champion Girls Cross Country team with her steady racing and dedication to the team. Coach Harris said, "Kendee is a phenomenal leader and teammate. She is a great example of having the right attitude and work ethic to be successful in cross country. Kendee also takes time to encourage her teammates and set goals with them. The team is so much stronger with teammates like Kendee." Congratulations Kendee!!

Shawni Larson is this weeks impact athlete of the week. The Reds Volleyball team went into Crimson Cliffs and knocked off the Mustangs 3 sets to 1. Handing them their first loss in region play. Shawni played a big role in the Red win collecting 8 kills along with 3 blocks, 2 service aces, along with 5 digs. Congratulations Shawni!!!

This weeks "Never Take a Play off" Teammate of the Week is Royce Jolley. Royce is the center for the football team and a team captain.

His teammates said this about Royce;

"He never takes a play off. Even when he’s on the sideline, he is cheering."

"He’s a really great, hard working teammate. He’s never backed down from a play and he is always executing his assignment well on the field. If he messes up, he just moves on and doesn’t get down on himself. He focuses on the next play. I never hear him say we’re gonna lose this game or any negative comment like that. He’s always believing in his team. He’s very humble and never brings down his teammates. He cares about his team and what his team does on and off the field. He deserves to be teammate of the week."

Macie Mitchell is the Impact Athlete of the Week for her role in the Reds Region Championship run at Bloomington park last week. Macie has been a consistent force for the Reds finishing in the top 4, 4 out of the 5 races this season. Macie took 4th in the Region race. Congratulations Macie!!

The Reds soccer team had a big win over Desert Hills yesterday. Tynzlee Nielsen came up big for the Reds, finding the back of the net twice to lead the offensive attack. Kyla Johnson and KenLea Davis each contributed an assist, helping set up Tynzlee’s two goals and keeping the Reds’ offense moving. The Reds finished the Regular Season on a high note finishing the regular season winning five of the last six games to finish 8-7 on the regular season. The Reds now await their playoff positioning fate which will be released Saturday morning at 10am.

We (Iron County School District) extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the family of the driver involved in this morning’s tragic accident. The accident involved one of our school buses at the beginning of the morning route and is currently under active investigation by the Utah Highway Patrol. There were no students on the bus at the time of the collision, however we understand students on their way to school may have passed the accident. Situations like this can be upsetting for students, even if they were not directly involved. We want you to know counselors are available at all of our schools. Students who may be struggling with what they saw or heard are invited to speak with a counselor.

Parents/guardians, The day of the rivalry football game between the Cedar High School Reds and the Canyon View High School Falcons has arrived. Here are a few reminders to ensure it is a safe and enjoyable event. • Southern Utah University has a clear bag policy. Please see the attached policy. • CHS students with an activity card will receive free admission to the game. All other students and spectators will need to pay an entrance fee unless they hold a UHSAA annual or silver pass or are an employee of the district (passes or employee badge must be shown). Tickets can be purchased in advance at GoFan. Cash will only be accepted at the Southwest Gate. • Elementary students should be accompanied by an adult. • Parking is available in designated free lots, including lots 2, 10, 11, 12, and 14. • Spectators will not be allowed to bring any athletic equipment into the stadium including balls, frisbees, skateboards, scooters, etc. • Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m. The game is being held in the SUU Eccles Coliseum. • Spectators are not allowed on the field after the game. We are looking forward to a great game as two of our local teams compete for the Pickaxe trophy.

Anyone interested in being a part of the swim team this upcoming season...there will be a mandatory parent/student meeting at 5 pm in the lecture hall on October 5th.

Hello Everyone, we are excited for the upcoming Cedar vs Canyon View Football game. As a reminder to both sides, we are guests at SUU and truly appreciate their hospitality and the opportunity for our community to come together on their campus for this game and hope to continue to do so for the years to come. Some information that we need to make everyone aware of prior to the game to help it go smooth. Tickets will be available online through GoFan, there will be links sent out to purchase those tickets in advance. Purchasing the tickets in advance will help get everyone into the stadium as quickly as possible. The Gates will open at 6 pm, and not prior to that. You will be able to purchase tickets at the site through GoFan digitally by QR Codes that will be posted at the gates. We will only be accepting cash at the SouthWest Gate, again the southwest gate will be the only entrance where cash is accepted so plan accordingly, this will be a slower process than the digital ticketing so be patient if you have to pay with cash. https://gofan.co/event/6917527?schoolId=UT7044 2. There will be security checks at each gate with metal detectors so please be aware and prepared to go through security. With that being said 3. SUU enforces a clear bag policy, so only clear bags will be allowed in the stadium, please leave bags home or in your car if they are NOT clear. Refer to the infographic attached for what items are allowed and what is not. 4. Conceal Carry will be by permit only, so plan to show your permit if needed going through security. 5. As guests at SUU we ask that any children under high school age, be accompanied by an adult and stay with them throughout the game. We ask that you please refrain from bringing any footballs, frisbees and such to the game as they will be turned away at the gates as well. 6. Following the game we ask that everyone remain off the field and have parents and fans meet their teams outside of the track area, Canyon View to the NorthEast side of the field, and Cedar on the South West side of the field. We are looking forward to a great game and hope that everyone in attendance has a positive experience.

Dear Parents and Guardians, We want to inform you that Cedar High will be administering the PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) on Oct. 13 for any 10th & 11th grade students interested. Registration & Fees: To register please pay Mindy Taylor in the front office $18, no later than Friday, Sept. 25. Why Students Take the PSAT/NMSQT Official Scholarship Qualifying: For 11th-grade students (juniors), this test serves as the entry point into the National Merit Scholarship Program. SAT Preparation: The exam mirrors the structure and content of the digital SAT, giving students excellent practice and a benchmark score.
