Cedar Police Department and Cedar High School have completed the investigation into the threat which led to an increased police presence and modified Level 1 Lockdown this morning.
The investigation found that no threat was made towards Cedar High School specifically. An image that has been circulating on social media since at least 2018 was seen by someone who was concerned and shared the image and then called police to make them aware. No charges have been filed as no crime was committed by those who shared the image.
Please take this time to have a discussion with your child about being aware of where messages originate and the importance of not continuing to share images that cause concern. We encourage witnesses of threats to come forward so law enforcement authorities can investigate and extinguish them immediately. If a threat is brought to your attention, we ask that you please report it immediately to law enforcement and/or school administrators so it can be investigated.
