The Academic All-State Award is given to students who have excelled in the classroom as well as in athletic competition. To qualify for this award, senior students must be a contributing member to varsity sports or a fine arts team and have either a 4.0 cummulative GPA or meet a combined index score (calculated using GPA and ACT/SAT scores). With over 100,000 students participating in high school activities, this award is the most prestigious honor the UHSAA presents to Senior students.
