On a special night at Cedar High where 3 time State Champion Matt Carter was inducted into the CHS Hall of Fame, as well as Senior night for the Reds, Cedar retained the Bell in the duel between the Reds and the Flyers. The night started with the ceremonies for the Seniors and Carter and then the Reds quickly got things going with Ian Po’uha winning the first match on the night 6-4, followed by forfeits for Max Diaz and Ben Hruby for the Reds giving the home team a 15-0 lead in the duel. Dixie countered with 3 wins in a row to push the team scores to 15-13 before Kian Pulsipher picked up a big pin just seconds before time expired in the 3rd period to push the Reds score up to 21-13. Andres Valencia won by fall in the second period of his match and Truitt Purcell outlasted his man picking up a 9-6 victory pushing the score to 30-13 in favor of the Reds. Dixie then picked up a pin at 157 lbs to cut the Reds lead to 11 at 30-19. That was it for the Flyers though as the next four Cedar Wrestlers all picked up pins early in their match to seal the victory and keep the bell in the Reds possesion. Cooper Jolley pinned his man in the 2nd period, Justin Anderson, Marshal LeClair and Aiden Po’uha each pinned their opponents in the first period of their matches making the final score 54-19. Way to go Boys!
